I have just gotten back into reading, finally. It has always been quite a passion for me, but has always felt like a bit of a waste of time. That is, until I realized that I am allowed to have moments in which I am just existing.
That’s something I am sure so many of us struggle with. We have been pushed into this constant productivity mode by society and now struggle to do things simply because we enjoy them. That is why I wanted to start this blog in the first place. I get to write (one of my greatest passions) and I get to read (my other greatest passion).
I currently have a TBR (otherwise known as To Be Read) list that is stacked incredibly high and growing by the day, thanks to BookTok and the many joyful book blogs I find myself devouring in the mornings. Don’t know what you want to read this holiday season? Here’s a sneak peek at my November TBR list.
Magical Romantasy (Romantic Fantasy) TBR Books
A Court of Silver Flames (ACOSF) by Sarah J. Maas
The final book in the ACOTAR series. I jumped into this book thanks to it’s raving Goodreads reviews and am so sad that I will soon be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Sarah J Maas to produce the next book, but am so excited to devour the last available piece of this series. According to the summary, it seems to focus on Nesta a bit more. While Nesta is quite unlikable, I find her to be an incredibly entertaining character. I cannot wait to get to know her better and understand why she is the way she is.
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
The “Empyrean” series has taken off for a reason that I am determined to learn about. If it is anywhere close to being as amazing as the ACOTAR books have been, I am excited to learn about it. The story focuses on students in a war college full of dragon riders. According to reviewers, I can expect to be whisked off to a world full of adventure, emotions, and romance- all of my favorite words.
Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
I know, I know- it is quite ambitious to plan on reading both these books within a single month. But, the book comes out this month! How could I not devour it whole when so many have been anticipating the continuation of this series? I’m so grateful to have been able to get my hands on the book on it’s launch day. Our neighborhood book club is covering this book, too, which has me so excited to hear the story from other people’s perspectives.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
A romantic fantasy about a magical circus? Yep, sounds about in my wheelhouse. I don’t know much about the book yet because I want to approach it blindly. However, this is our November bookclub pick for the other bookclub I am in and I cannot wait to devour it this month.
Romance TBR Books
The Roughest Draft by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka
This book has popped up time and time again as I browsed lists full of romance recommendations. It covers the story of Katrina Freeling and Natan Van Huysen who must rekindle a writing partnership that ended on bad terms. I love a good enemies-to-lovers story if we’re being honest.
Wreck the Halls by Tessa Bailey
Tessa Bailey is one of my auto-buy authors. I love her work. It’s spicy, cute, and romantic every single time. This story will be my intro to my holiday reading and I can’t wait to get in the mood to deck the halls with it.
Yes, my November TBR is quite ambitious, but let’s be honest, I will probably be devouring every last one of these literary masterpieces. I hope this list has given you some inspiration for your November reading if you have been facing a reading rut. Here’s to No-Putting-Books-Down-November, am I right?
